Bees Game

I recieved some free tickets to the Salt Lake Bees game on Saturday, July 25th from Keebler, so off we went to see a game and fireworks afterwards. Camille was so much fun to watch, I don't think we saw much of the game. She kept an eye out for that Bee mascot and wanted to go visit it. She had fun and so did Lorie and I. It was so much fun being in the park, eating hot dogs, nachos and popcorn and spending time together. We rode trax up and back and it isn't as crowded as the Jazz games. Camille loved the fireworks and gave me a big hug and kiss on the way out. That is all the payment a dad needs!!

Farmland Family Time

We had the opportunity to go with Kim, Jennifer and all the kids to Farmland at Thanksgiving Point a couple weeks ago and luckily I was off work and got to go with them. Camille loved it, she has a thing for animals and thought they were pretty fun to see and touch. Her favorite was the goats and getting to feed them corn. I never even knew about this place, so thanks to Jennifer for inviting us. Camille also liked the pony ride and now wants to keep going back to ride it again.

Catch up Time

It has been two months since we lasted posted anything on our blog, and so much has happened. Camille went back to the eye doctor and there was some improvement. She had to wear the patch for two more weeks, but now doesn't have to for the next six weeks. We go back to see the doctor then and more than likely will be getting glasses for Camille. In May we went to St. George over memorial day weekend with Kris and Jennifer and the kids. It was a lot of fun, and yes we did miss not having Kim, George and the kids there with us. In June I spent a week at Maple Dell for scout camp. It was the week after the swine flu outbreak and we were a little worried, but we had a great time and the boys earned lots of merit badges. We also took Camille to her first Bees baseball game. She did pretty well as long as the bee mascot was out runnning around. She has very little interest in baseball though I will continue to work on her.

Camille "sees" the eye doctor

We noticed about a month ago that Camille had a little lazy eye so we took her to the doctor. He refered us to Primary Childrens to see a specialist. Last Monday we headed up north to see what he had to say and let him look at Cami. He told us that her vision wasn't to bad and wouldn't need glasses. But she would need to wear a patch daily for the next six weeks to try and strenghten the weak eye. In the mean time we will go back up next Friday for a MRI to make sure there is no tumors or anything else in her brain that might cause this kind of thing. We are hoping that it will just correct itself, if not he said surgery might need to happen. Camille was a trooper for this visit, she loved sitting in the "princess" chair and didn't even mind the doctor looking into her eyes. She did think that the eye drops to dilate your eyes were unnecessary. The trip ended on a good note as Cami got her wish of going to McDonalds.

Easter Part 2

A couple days after Easter, Camille got into her candy and went back towards the bedrooms. All of a sudden it got very quiet and Lorie went back to see what was going on. Camille had emptied out all of her candy, taken of her shirt, and dumped out all of the messy grass. She then proceed to pose with the grass all over her. I'm not sure, but maybe she wants to be a model!!! I don't think I ready for that yet. She is turning into quite a handful.

Easter 2009

Easter was fun this year, Camille now understands the whole idea of a easter egg hunt. I just don't know if she will like it if she ever has to do it with others. The past couple of years it has been just her looking and she gets everything. If she ever had to do it and share with others it might get ugly!!! This was the first year we colored eggs and what an experience that turned out to be. I was so much fun, she just wanted to keep on going after we had done a dozen. Easter was different this year, we just celebrated with the three of us. Camille did her easter egg hunt before church, and after church we had a Chinese Easter dinner. Then we just lounged around the rest of the day.

Remembering Mom

Today is a special day for me to remember, April 8th is my moms Birthday. It is the second one we have had to celebrate without her. I have been off work today, taking care of some financial things with her house and its hard to not think of her as I write out each check from her checkbook. Camille and I had the opportunity to go this morning and pick out a flower and take it to the cemetery. I try to help Camille remember her Grandma Bracken, she was so little when she passed. It amazes me how much little ones do remember, because she will point at pictures and yell out Grandma Bracken. Children are much more spiritual and in tune to the spirit and I think she knows her Grandma is looking out for her. This afternoon we are heading down to McDonalds to have a little get together to remember her. There isn't anything better than a McDonalds Coke!!!! We love and Miss you Mom!
